On June 16th all Lakes & Dales Stores are supporting Cupcake Day an Alzheimer’s Society led event. Our store teams will have their wooden spoons at the ready to help beat Dementia together. We look forward to seeing our members and customers pop into the stores to pick up a tasty treat to show their support for Alzheimer’s Society.
Lakes & Dales Co-operative has a partnership with Alzheimer’s Society which lasts for one year, this means throughout the year our store teams, members and customers go that extra mile raising funds and awareness for the charity.
Dementia can happen to anyone and there’s currently no cure. There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK and the number is set to rise to 1 million by 2021.
At Alzheimer’s Society, they believe passionately that life doesn’t end when dementia begins. They are there to support anyone affected by dementia, and do everything to keep people with dementia connected to their lives and the people who matter most.
