Lakes and Dales were delighted to support Keswick’s first Charity Duck Race which took place at Fitz Park, Keswick on Monday 29th August.
The event organized by Keswick Rotary Club was to raise money for Blood Bikes Cumbria, Blood Bikes provide out-of-hours transport 365 days of the year to transport urgently needed blood, drugs, human tissue and other medical requirements between hospitals and blood transfusion banks. They also supply the Great North Air Ambulance with fresh blood for their blood on board service every day of the week regardless of weather conditions.
Over £2000 was raised on the day, which saw hundreds come out to cheer on their ducks and also get involved with some of the activities going on in the park ranging from Tombolas, Cake Sales and Coconut Shy. Lakes & Dales held a stall offering tasters of our local and Fairtrade products available in our stores.
