Lazonby Pool Project

Following a change of pool design, Lazonby Pool require a specialised winter cover that prevents leaves gathering and degrading/damaging the new liner and which withstands larger debris from gales and prevents accidental falls into the pool. During the closed season the pool is partially emptied but still has a drowning risk. A full award would also enable them to also help fulfil another big need, namely to replace a corroded 20-year-old lifeguard chair.

1st Stanhope Scouts Project

1st Stanhope Scouts are seeking to replace unusable camping equipment with new equivalents, including tents, cooking equipment such as camping stoves, shelters for cooking and dining, as well as all the supporting equipment needed from water carriers to chemical toilets. They will also be able to subsidise an ‘Adventurous Activities Weekend’ for their young people.

With equipment in place, they would be able to arrange many more camping trips for their young people giving them the opportunity to take part in not just camping, but activities such as orienteering, expeditions, as well as both land and water-based activities locally and further afield.

Astley Park Bowls Club Project
